The Vacancy
Malaria Consortium is recruiting for a temporary Finance Assistant to join our team in Ougadougou, Burkina Faso.
The temporary Finance Assistant will be responsible for SMC suppliers and actors’ payment from bank to bank and/or mobile money transfers. He/She will be in charge of verifying the payment lists and initiating payments with reports generated in the mobile payment or bank payment platform. He/She will track complaints and do reconciliation of suppliers and partner accounts in the mobile payment or bank payment platform, verify, and track partner justifications for amounts transferred. He/She will follow the payment of SMC suppliers and actors and under the authority of the Finance Officer. This include :
SMC suppliers and actors’ Payment
• Verify coherence between reference, presence and payment lists provided by program team
• Initiate payments in the payment platform (Mobile and/or bank)
• Generate and reconcile payment reports with approved payment lists and share with required recipients.
• Ensure monthly reconciliation of the mobile and/or bank payments accounts.
• Process complaints received from the Program team.
• Produce the payment run report and the required comments.
• Prepare expense claims.
• Ensure two-way communication with internal and external collaborators.
Accounting
• Support the Finance Officer in the follow-up of the partners' financing plan.
• Follow-up and gather documentation on bank transfers for actors or suppliers.
• Ensure receipt, verification of receipts and production of expenses claims from partners.
• Ensure monthly filing of accounting documents.
The successful candidate will have :
Qualifications and Experience :
• At least a bachelor’s degree or Baccalaureate + 2 in finance and accounting or in economics and management.
• At least three years of experience in a finance department in an NGO or any company.
• Experience working/partnering with government bodies.
Work-based skills :
• Knowledge of donors and their financial reporting requirements
• Good knowledge of English and French (written and spoken)
• Committed to Malaria Consortium’s mission and values.
• Work experience in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.

This role is conditional of Malaria Consortium securing funding for this role.

This is a fixed term contract for the period of 06 months.
