Profile specification

Qualifications and experience:

Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher diploma in public health, community health, health project management or similar field.
  • Professional experience as a programme manager in public health related projects, and a proven ability to deliver high quality results
  • More than five years of experience in management and monitoring and evaluation of public health projects, including data management
  • Experience working with the public health system in Chad
  • Demonstrated experience of collaboration with public actors (particularly the Ministry of Health and districts or health zones) in the conduct of public health projects or the collection and entry of data

Desirable:

  • Experience of maternal and child programs and activities in Chad, including interventions such as SMC, mosquito net distribution and other related activities.

Work-based skills and competencies:         

Essential:      

  • Functional knowledge of at least one database application relating to the health sector
  • Excellent command of large-scale data entry and statistical analysis software such as Stata, EpiData, CSPro
  • Availability for travel to required project sites (40%) in Chad
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in different environments.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team.
  • Ability to communicate and negotiate with people of different origins and professions.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, orally and in writing.
  • Excellent analytical skills, including interpretation of complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Flexibility and the ability to adapt quickly to dynamic environments; ability to apply knowledge and experience to solve unexpected problems
  • Capacity in performance management to achieve quality results
  • Advanced knowledge of English

Desirable: 

  • Knowledge of maternal and child, including interventions such as chemoprevention and mosquito net distribution.
