Malaria Consortium is recruiting for a  Senior Project Officer to join our team in Togo.

The successful candidate will have to coordinate support for the implementation of activities at the district, HF , and community levels in Togo with the district officers. He/she will support the planning, programming, and coordination of training activities, supervision, activity reporting, mobile payment, and health district relations, under the supervision of the Project Manager. The position will be based in Lomé with very regular visits to the districts and regions. This include :

  • District level activities 

    STRIVE project activities at the level of the districts and regions covered:

  • Assist districts and health centers in planning project-related activities;
  • Assist in the development of the coordination plan for project-related activities at the district and health region level;
  • Participate in coordination meetings with field stakeholders for the implementation of the project;
  • Assist in the implementation of the capacity building/training/retraining plan for stakeholders involved in the project at district, regional and national levels;
  • Support the Malaria Consortium SMC Program Manager in coordinating communication between districts-regions and Malaria Consortium;
  • Support district supply planning for IEC/CSC materials for seasonal malaria chemoprevention activities at the health district level;
  • Monitor the implementation of the integrated communication plan by the districts and report on its progress;
  • Ensure the reception and verification of payment lists and complaints from project beneficiaries in collaboration with the MC Togo finance team;
  •  
  • Reporting and documentation 
  • Ensure that monitoring data collected from the HF to the district level are synthesized and transmitted;                                                   
  • Coordinate and contribute to the implementation of district and regional support activities
  • Supervise the district agents
  • Manage and direct the team of district agents
  • Report to the  SMC Project Manager.

Qualifications and experience :

Essential

  • Master's in Public Health/Epidemiology
  • At least 5 years of work experience in public health, including at least 3 years in a similar NGO.
  • Solid experience working with health district, FS, and community levels
  • Good experience in conducting community engagement and supervision activities

Work-based Skills and competencies.

Essential

  • Good knowledge of health system in Togo;
  • Good communication skills;
  • Ability to make regular field visits;
  • Ability to work under pressure;
  • Proven leadership and team management skills;
  • Excellent planning, management, and monitoring/evaluation skills;
  • Excellent report writing and presentation skills;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in French;
  • Excellent computer skills with high proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

This role is conditional of Malaria Consortium securing funding for this role.  

Due to the nature of this role we will be reviewing applications on an ongoing basis and the role might be filled and closed before the closing date. Early applications are encouraged.

This is a fixed term contract for the period of 12 months.
