Malaria Consortium is recruiting for a System Analyst to join our team in UK, Nigeria, Uganda

Job purpose

Malaria Consortium (MC) is currently undertaking a significant transformation initiative through the implementation of the Unit4 (formerly Agresso) ERP system. This new enterprise resource planning solution will streamline our operations and enhance efficiency across various functions. We are actively seeking individuals who will play a pivotal role in this exciting journey, working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders to ensure the efficient and successful implementation of the Unit4 ERP system.

The System Analyst is responsible for working with stakeholders in analyzing the requirements, optimizing the business processes, testing the new system, training the end users and overall efficient implementation of the Unit4 ERP system that optimizes business processes and improve organizational performance. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders to understand business processes, system requirements and working with Head of System Implementation for successful ERP system implementation.

 

Scope of work

The System Analyst will support the implementation of a new ERP system. This role requires a highly organized and analytical individual who can collaborate across various departments, bridging gaps between finance, Procurement, People & Culture, technical and other key stakeholders. The System Analyst will work closely with the Head of System Implementation and both Country and Regional Finance Managers to ensure a smooth transition to the new ERP system.

Key working relationships

Reporting to the Head of System Implementation, the role holder provides project support to MC finance teams and procurement teams.

Key accountabilities

  • Requirement Analysis: Review business requirements from stakeholders, ensuring alignment with the overall ERP implementation goals. Collaborate with the Head of System Implementation to work on the solutions that meet these requirements.
  • System Testing: Work with Head of System Implementation to plan and execute testing plans to ensure the new ERP system meets the specified requirements. Identify, document, and resolve any issues or defects in a timely manner.
  • Training & Support: Work with Head of System Implementation to conduct training sessions for super users and end users, ensuring they are well-equipped to use the new ERP system effectively. Provide continuous support and troubleshoot any issues post-implementation.
  • Collaboration: Work together with Country and Regional Finance and Procurement teams to facilitate a clear understanding of their needs and integrate these into the system. Build strong relationships to enable effective communication and collaboration.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation throughout the project lifecycle, including system specifications, process charts, and training materials.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure data integrity and the successful migration of data from old systems to the new ERP. Work with IT teams to maintain system performance and security.
  • Project Management: Assist the Head of System Implementation in managing the project timeline, resources, and deliverables to ensure a successful rollout of the ERP system.
  • Feedback Loop: Gather and analyse feedback from end-users to identify areas for improvement, working towards continuous optimization of system processes and functionality. 

Required Skills and Experience:

Qualifications and experience:

Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Demonstrable skills and prior experience working with Unit4 (formerly Agresso Business World) ERP system, which is a significant advantage.
  • Experience of working one or more Unit4 modules relevant to the role (e.g., Financials, HCM, Procurement, Fixed Assets, etc.).
  • Experienced in working in not-for-profit organizations.
  • Experience in Data migration from Legacy system to new ERP system.
  • Ability to run Unit4 training workshops for MC users

Desirable

  • Experience in training and support for system implementation
  • Proficiency in ERP systems or using any finance, procurement systems.
  • Experience working with other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as SAP, Oracle and other.

Work-based skills:

Essential

  • Proven experience in financial reporting, analysis, ideally within the charity, NGO, or not-for-profit sector.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to work with large data sets and identify trends.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy, with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong understanding of financial processes and requirements.

Desirable

  • Strong ability to be able to manage and prioritize multiple tasks
  •  Experience working in a global organization or with regional finance teams.
  • Proven experience in system analysis and ERP implementation.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Superior communication and collaboration capabilities.
  • Previous experience in working in finance within the charity, NGO, or not-for-profit sector is highly desirable, particularly with experience in developing regions.\
