Malaria Consortium is recruiting for a Zonal Surveillance Coordinator  to join our team in Ethiopia and role will be based in at Gamo Zone Health Department or South Omo Health Department.

The successful candidate will have:

Essential:     

  • Masters in Field epidemiology, MPH, and related health disciplines   
  • At least 5 years’ experience of working on Malaria Surveillance and malaria outbreak emergency response
  • Demonstrable skill on DHIS2 and PHEM data tools and reporting systems
  • Demonstrable skill on use of computers, excel software, data analysis and interpretation, data visualizations
  • Knowledge of project management techniques and tools
  • Familiarity with the Ethiopian health system, preferable working in the previous SNNPR.
  • Experience of working closely with government and non-government partners to successfully deliver project objectives.
  • Desirable: 
  • A qualification in public health and project management
  • Familiar with current malaria surveillance, emergency response, prevention and control policy and strategy.
  • Experience in designing and implementing behaviour change communications activities
  • Experience of working in community-based activities
  • Flexible and adaptable to various working conditions
  • Capable of working with tight timelines

This role is conditional of Malaria Consortium securing funding for this role.  Due to the nature of this role we will be reviewing applications on an ongoing basis and the role might be filled and closed before the closing date. Early applications are encouraged.

This is a fixed term contract for the period of 12 months.
