Malaria Consortium is recruiting for a Community Engagement Officer to join our team in Aweil, South Sudan.

Purpose

This overall responsibility for the community engagement Officer is planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of   mobilisation and sensitization activities in line with Malaria Consortium Programme in order to change the behaviour of the community towards health and nutrition practices.

The successful candidate will have:

Qualifications 

  • Diploma in health, nutrition, social science, education, Development Studies and Communication.
  • At least one year field experience in implementing community mobilisation activities
  • Strong background in training and capacity building
  • Ability to find solutions to complex problems in a challenging environment
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Good written and spoken English
  • Reasonable computer skills particularly Microsoft Office
  • Flexible, ability to work both as an individual and as a team member and under stress in what can be a harsh environment
  • Republic of South Sudan National, preferably from NBeG
  • Fluent in Dinka and Arabic

Desirable

  • A broad range of experience including logistics
  • Experience working on campaigns
  • High level health and nutrition qualification
  • Excellent written and spoken English

This role is conditional of Malaria Consortium securing funding for this role. 

Due to the nature of this role we will be reviewing applications on an ongoing basis and the role might be filled and closed before the closing date. Early applications are encouraged.

This is a fixed term contract for the period of 6 months.
