Malaria Consortium is recruiting for a Country Technical Coordinator to join our team in South Sudan.

The purpose of the role is to provide technical support and oversight to all projects within the South Sudan programme, to provide technical support to the Ministry of Health, and to play an active role in the strategic and technical development and expansion of the South Sudan programme.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Masters’ Degree in Public/International Health, Epidemiology or Communicable Disease Control or other relevant discipline with a basic degree in Medicine or Nursing.
  • Extensive experience working in public health implementation or communicable disease control, at least two of these years in a management role
  • Excellent knowledge and demonstrable experience of both malaria control and health systems strengthening in terms of project design, implementation and evaluation, and health services delivery
  • Demonstrable experience working in a technical advisory capacity to Ministries of Health and other partners, including relating to policy and guidelines review or development, and programme reviews
  • Experience in management and implementation of health programs in a conflict / post conflict environment
  • Demonstrable experience of working in the field on implementation of health care programmes including trainings of MoH staff at national, sub-national and facility level
  • Experience in the use of statistical package and databases: SPSS, STATA, EpiInfo ENA for SMART, HMIS, DHIS and other analysis tools, epidemiological analysis and interpretations
  • Experience of building positive working relationships between NGOs and MoH
